While many bikes have been designed for living in a city, most of these models just tack a couple of features onto an existing type of bike. To fully address all the needs of an urbanite, the designers at Canyon have reinvented the wheel with their Commuter bike to bring pragmatism, style and performance into what many may view as a burdensome routine. The Commuter 8.0 and 7.0 both feature a slew of parts that are built to meet any scenario the city can throw at you. Is it raining and muddy outside? No problem, as the bikes feature a specially designed mudguard set to keep your ride looking pristine. Need to ride home at night? Easy as pie thanks to a seamlessly integrated front headlight. Worried about constant maintenance to prevent rusting? It’ll never be an issue again thanks to the Gates belt drive system, which requires no oil to function, will never result in jumping gears and has durability to last a lifetime. And along with this, the bike’s sleek aluminum frame and wheels provide for a robust ride that’s surprisingly lightweight at 11.8 kg (26 lbs). The Commuter is offered in a range of sizes and colors to fit any preference, and includes a San Marco Regale urban performance leather seat that everyone can agree on. This is a bike built from the ground up to turn your daily commute from a headache to a joyride, no matter what obstacle your city delivers. Images © Tino Pohlmann Fotografie
