Elected by the Coleman Center for the Arts to create a public space in York, Alabama, artist Matthew Mazzotta worked with the community to convert a dilapidated house into a 100-seat, open air theater. The team salvaged the original materials, refashioning them into a simple pink structure that echoes the traditional architecture. While the aptly named Open House looks like a small home, it can be unfolded into an outdoor playhouse. Centrally located downtown, the Open House hosts a variety of showings and performances at no cost to the public.
