TAC Tea Service, manufactured by Rosenthal in 1969, was Walter Gropius’ final product design before his death that same year. Inspired by Chinese porcelain, the Massachusetts-based designer Gropius created the set in Cambridge and arranged to have it produced in Germany. Today, the iconic international design is coming back with a fresh look. Collaboratively created by Danish studios Bjarke Ingels Group and Kilo Design, the new version expresses the global history of the collection, as each piece is decorated with skyline from one of twelve cities around the world. The re-release dresses up the white TAC plates, chargers, cups, and teapot with traditional blue ink.
