Abandoned Bikes in New York City

Laura and Ryan of Smith & Ratliff bring a fresh perspective to New York’s bike debris. Rather than viewing abandoned bicycles as “eyesores,” they’ve taken to considering the twisted, metal forms as art. Likening chains to Richard Serra’s work, and frames to John Chamberlain’s, the couple successfully convinced at least this blogger to appreciate bikes as street art.
