Assa Abloy Finnish Padlocks

Safety and style is a packaged deal with the innovative padlock design from Assa Abloy, a company at the top of its game in the security industry. The Finnish padlock employs disc locks, washers that rotate to fit the lock’s key, as a more secure alternative to standard, vertical pin locks. Not to spend too long on details, but disc locks are sturdy enough for the outdoors and have commonly been used in industrial settings. Better locking-plate technology does not mean a bulkier design, for the stacked discs allow the body of the lock to be smaller in volume. The body of the Finnish padlock supports a chrome-plated steel bracket, and the slight, inward bend of the bracket’s arm gives the lock a sleek, sophisticated look. Not only is the padlock a work of art but the key is equally fascinating because of the varied angles of its bits, differentiating one key’s signature from the next. A nickel-silver key is fitted to each lock, and the engraved pattern on the key’s diamond-shaped bow provides a modern contrast the more vintage luster of the lock’s brass body. Abloy produces the padlocks in two different sizes – the difference is in the length of the bracket – at heights of 2.6″ and 4.1″.
