The AP 1211 is a pad in São Paulo, Brazil by Alan Chu that stacks textures and hip surfaces. Subway tiles shine in the midst of warm wooden cabinetry seamlessly set from the sink to the media center; meanwhile a spiral black staircase adds a kick of graphics to the scene. In the kitchen space cherry red accents are an unexpected twist to match the heavy duty phone on the living wall across the room. Upstairs a pine element against the stairway leads us into the loft without skipping a beat of fluid design. Although the space is tiny with a measly 388 square feet to work with, we are charmed and find the floor plan more than anyone could ask for.
