The Architectural Soufuu Revolutionizes Lounge Furniture

View all 13 Photos

When it comes to rest and relaxation, most people imagine a private space disconnected from the rest of the world. But Soufuu aims to challenge that perception and reimagine the classic lounge space as a mini-house where more than two people can interact or chill separately, depending on their mood. Soufuu was created by Jordi Iranzo, an industrial designer based in Valencia, Spain. It features a compact footprint and a 2.5m height, which makes it ideal for either spacious rooms or outdoor areas.

The structure takes inspiration from a classic house and has steps, small rooms, open areas, more private spaces, as well as a terrace. A hammock installed on the roof provides a perfect opportunity to recharge batteries and relax, while the adjacent rooms allow users to connect with each other. Designed without doors or a traditional entrance/exit, Soufuu provides complete freedom while also encouraging user interaction. Both playful and welcoming, the structure revolutionizes classic lounge furniture. It challenges users to move away from isolation and embrace a new spirit of connectivity and dialogue – whether with each other or with nature. Photography by Thomas Lewandowski.
