Arise CX Bike

Just in time for the 2016 Berlin Bicycle Week, Cologne-based design studio Bombtrack has announced a special edition of their Arise single speed CX bike, which captures the diverse spirit of the sport and the versatility of a SSCX build. The Berlin Bicycle Week is a celebration of all aspects of bikes, promoting especially its role as part of a healthy and social lifestyle. But the highlight of the dozens of event lined up for the week is the Berliner Fahrradschau, a trade fair with over 300 exhibitors from all across the industry.

When Bombtrack was given the opportunity to present a custom bike at the entrance of the Fahrradschau, they seized the occasion with a truly stunning bike that speaks to the cyclist in all of us. A new take on their third generation Arise model, it features a bold paint scheme, with a pure white contrasted by deep blacks and flashes of color. This especially pops on the back of the frame, where stripes of blue, red, black, yellow and green subtly promote the colors of the Berliner Fahrradschau. But along with being a show model, the Arise has also been designed to be a serious contender in competitions. Every part of the bike’s construction addresses the challenges inherent in riding a fixed speed ride, with an emphasis on minimalism, efficiency and speed. Despite its simplicity, the bike has been dutifully engineered to provide a ride that’s powerful as well as nimble.
The frame’s geometry gives riders a comfortable reach, its fork features a longer trail for more stable handling, and even its tires are specially chosen to excel both on roads and dirt trails. This resourcefulness is key, as Bombtrack will also be sponsoring the Arise in the SSCX European Championship, which is being held during Fahrradschau this year. We won’t know for sure what happens until the competition is held this March, but when you see such majestic design come out of such a dedicated studio as in the case of the Arise, I’d say the odds are greatly in their favor to win.
