Clearly, this building has an incredible level of self confidence. Protruding out of a hillside in Castelrotto, Italy the Kostner Estate by Modus Architects instantly grabs your attention. The lower levels stand casted in a “V” shaped frame which adds a beautiful artistry like no other home. Its pattern lifts the home off the ground in a majestic pose. The glass walls behind this timber frame allow for unobstructed views throughout these gathering areas, also constantly connecting them to the surrounding town carrying on just a glance away. In the upper levels privacy is maintained as every detail is composed of larch wood showing a great deal of craftsmanship combining a light frame construction system with a CLT construction system. The L-shape layout pronounces the distinction from the owner’s studio and living quarters for the rest of his family connected by a spiral staircase.
