Azuchi House by ALTS Design Office

Sometimes a small house is all you want. At 88.36 sqm (289 sq ft), ALTS Design Office’s Azuchi house is both as small and desirable as they come. Designed by Sumiou Mizumoto and Yoshitaka Kuga, the Azuchi house makes the most of being compact with large windows, an open floor plan, and a crafty cutaway overlooking the kitchen from the second-floor loft. The natural light and cool wooden interior lends the house an organic, boundless feel, while the boxy angles imbue the space with a sense of structure. Completed just this year, the Azuchi house is located in Shiga Prefecture, Japan.
