Babylon Light and Planter by Ryan Taylor

The Babylon Light is a hanging lamp that doubles as a planter. The practical lighting design was created by Ryan Taylor of ONI Projects / Object Interface (O\I), a boutique multidisciplinary studio in Toronto, and made locally in Canada. Crafted from aluminum and powdercoated in white, the multifunctional lighting design is reflective and waterproof. The lamp also features a porcelain lamp holder, a steel suspension cable, and a removable plastic liner. All of these components come together under a shallow dish, which is perfect for growing hanging plants such as snowtopia and donkey’s tail. The tendrils of the plant will droop down and create a natural canopy around the lightbulb, bringing the beauty of this design to the next level.
