Basketlamp: Traditional Weaving Used in Versatile Lighting

A 2013 winner of Premio Lapiz de Acero, the Basketlamp is a shapely lighting solution by the designer Juan Cappa. Drawing inspiration from traditional woven baskets, the organic lampshade is crafted from solid ash, pine, and oak wood as well as ash and pine veneer. A brightly colored electrical cord accompanies the otherwise naturally finished design. Able to illuminate the room from any position, the lamp can be suspended from the ceiling or left freestanding on a table or the floor. Flat-packed for convenience, the versatile design is also easy to assemble, move, and store. Available directly from the designer, the lamp comes in two sizes.
