At first glance, Manu Campa’s paintings don’t look like artistic renderings at all. The series, Bike for Life, is hyper-realistic and you can almost smell the chrome and paint fresh off of the frames. The protagonist bicycle takes on a life of its own, the reflective handlebars mimicking the majestic antlers of a proud deer and the spoked wheels the powerful legs it stands on. Not only does the collection of paintings portray the bicycle from a third-person perspective, but a couple offer a rider’s view that just overlooks the handlebars. Speed, exhilaration, and drive make Bike for Life a thrilling ride – if only for the eyes.
