bobiniQUE Ceramic Candle Holders by Vito Nesta

In his collection of ceramic works that depict various aspects of the tailoring craft, Italian designer Vito Nesta weaves a new tale from a Greek favorite: the myth of Ariadne. bobiniQUE draws upon the use of thread that connected the two lovers and led Theseus out of the Minotaur’s labyrinth; in a sense, bobiniQUE fulfills the literal role of beacon and light to the darkness. Available in six different color variations, the candle holders that accommodate tea lights and simple candles illuminate with their detailed appearance. The ceramic has a deified look, its base and top crowned with two gold rings embossed with the name of the piece, and the body cloaked with rich colors displaying the patterning of thread on a bobbin. With bobiniQUE as the penultimate work in the series, one wonders what brilliance will strike next – and last.
