Brione House by Wespi De Meuron Romeo Architects

Wedged into the earth is a magnificent stone build by Wespi De Meuron Romeo Architects. The ancient technique of laying one stone at a time from corner to corner has been used in a stunning new build flaunting modern characteristics. The result is a timeless structure solid in construction which will see many hundreds years of use yet. Bottom line, no one makes homes like they used to. How exhilarating to see this architect take on such a project.
These blocks of construction have been submerged into the hillside of Locarno, Switzerland to take advantage of the exquisite views of the mountains and the lake. Its design throughout is simple, peaceful, uninhibited. The fantastic flow is preserved by open doorways, channeling beams of sunlight through the cave like crevices. Just as tranquil is the grand entrance to the swimming pool leaving one speechless as it cascades into the horizon.
