Clear Lake Cottage by MJMA Architects

Not your traditional cottage, Clear Lake Cottage leverages modern architecture to create a better alignment between the constructed environment and the natural surroundings of Senguin, Ontario. Designed by Maclennan Jaunkalns Miller Architects, the getaway home is striking to the eye with its faceted, trapezoidal roof and angled façades. The mix of oblique planes and irregular angles disguise boundaries including the walls, the terrace walk-up, and even make the bedroom overhead space feel like a tent amidst camping grounds. The plywood interiors and ample glazing create a bright and sunny ambience in the energy-efficient cottage.
