Cliff House by MacKay-Lyons Sweetapple Architects

Lunging over ridged rocks so maximizing the beautiful scene off Nova Scotia’s Atlantic Coast is the Cliff House, the first in a series of similar constructions by MacKay-Lyons Sweetapple Architects. Situated on 455 crisp acres, these small cabins only 960 square feet amplify a simple get away using unconventional designs. It’s an interior clearly luxurious although not indulgent with only the efficiencies at hand. Quality craftsmanship ravishes the landscape with impressive galvanized steel beams stretching and reaching the underside to the bedrock below. Outside ocean stained cedar siding is worn grayish; whereas the interior wooden panels showcase in a golden hue. Dramatic cross beams cut through the great room in a demonstrative presentation, exaggerating the depth and height of the room, the vastness of the view just beyond them.
