Closeup Photographs of Animal Skin

In “Skin Series,” Japanese photographer Yusuke Sakai takes a closer look at the skin, feathers, and hair of wild animals. His macro shots reveal the texture of animals such as the Asian elephant and Arabian camel and give viewers a rare view of iconic creatures. It would be dangerous to check out a living black bear’s fur, even for professionals. Yet, through Sakai’s powerful lens, one can see just that from the comfort of home.
