Collection 35

A perfectly balanced and minimalist side table design.

An exploration of form and proportion, Collection 35 has a timeless, minimal design that celebrates the harmonious relationship between two different, even contrasting materials, as well as their individual character. Lisbon-based industrial and product designer Miguel Lopes created the Coleção 35 (Collection 35) furniture collection with a focus on refined simplicity. The minimalist side table design features elegant, curved lines. Designed as one structure, the steel frame and the wooden tops become a single organism. Minimal materials and components preserve the clean, uncluttered design of the two tables.

The designer used the same thickness for both the metal support and the upper section to create a perfect harmony. The volumes lack any creases and edges, while graceful curves soften the geometric lines further. As a result, the tables have an almost organic look, reminding of a symbiotic relationship. The cool metal and warm wood maintain their character, but their complementing surfaces also give a distinctive accent to the design. The two side tables come with oak, ash, and mahogany tops.
