Contemporary Swedish Prefab Home

This prefab home was designed by Swedish architect Tommy Carlsson and installed in a suburb outside Stockholm. Clad in galvanized corrugated iron, the house shines with contemporary appeal. The frame and interior is made of laminated plywood for a sleek yet natural look. Stepping inside the home, the underside of the triangular porch and entryway ceiling are painted blue for a mystical effect. The ceiling and floor look as though they could have come from the surrounding woods, which can be seen through the square windows on the first floor. In the kitchen, the matte gray finish of the cabinets and counters provides a nice counterbalance to the otherwise woodsy decor. On the second floor, a large rectangular viewing window brightens the second story landing and lounge area. Just imagine spending time with friends and family and watching the landscape transform as the sunsets. The fantasy is relatively affordable, too, as the prefab home can be purchased in Sweden for €170,000.
