Cecilie Manz

Danish designer Cecilie Manz was born in 1972, in an environment immersed in the world of art and design. In 1992, she began studying at the Danish School of Design before moving to Helsinki to study at the Finnish University of Art and Design as an exchange student. While there, she developed an interest in conceptualization and functional design. She graduated from the Danish School of Design in 1997 and opened her own studio, Manz Lab, in 1998. The designer’s projects range from lighting and furniture design to glass products and home accessories. Apart from product design, she also creates sculptural, one-off pieces as well as more experimental work. Manz has collaborated with many renowned brands, including Nikari, Bang & Olufsen, Fritz Hansen, Iittala, and Muuto. She has received the Danish Design Award, iF product Design Award, and the Finn Juhl Architectural Prize, among others. Cecilie Manz currently lives and works in Copenhagen, Denmark.
