Houston-based Lauren Rottet is one of the most celebrated interior architects in the world as well as the only woman to receive the Fellow status at both the American Institute of Architects and the International Interior Design Association.

Born in Waco, Texas, Lauren Rottet graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Texas. Soon after her graduation, she started working at Fisher Friedman Architects. After leaving the studio, she worked as Senior Designer at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), co-founded Keating Mann Jernigan Rottet, and then worked as a Principal-in-Charge at DMJM Rottet for fourteen years. In 2008, she established her own firm, Rottet Studio. Based in Texas, the WBE-certified firm also has offices in NYC and LA.

Known for her work in office interior design, Lauren Rottet has designed workspaces and corporate headquarters for some of the world’s most renowned companies, including Disney, GE, United Talent Agency, and Goldman Sachs. She has also created offices for top international law firms, setting a new standard in the industry with her innovative solutions, creative designs, and architecturally-driven concepts. Throughout her work, from office design to commercial and hospitality projects, Lauren Rottet uses a blend of architectural and artistic flair, theater, sophistication, and thoughtful details.

Lauren Rottet has received many prestigious citations over the years. Named Designer of the Year by Interiors magazine in 1994 and by Boutique Design in 2012, she was also inducted in the Interior Design Hall of Fame in 1997 and as an Inaugural Member of the Women in Design Hall of Fame, in 2006. She is a Lifetime Appointee to the U.S. General Services Administration’s National Register of Peer Professionals for Design Excellence. In 2013, the designer received the coveted Calibre Circle of Excellence Award, while in 2014, Hospitality Design magazine inducted her in the iconic Platinum Circle. Rottet’s work has received numerous awards. Apart from the AIA / Houston Honor Award and the Chicago Athenaeum Award, she has also won Bronze, Silver, and Gold awards at the International Design Awards.
