Monica Förster

Monica Förster was born in 1966 in northern Sweden, close to the Arctic Circle. She studied at Beckmans College of Design and Konstfack, or the University of Arts, Crafts and Design, before embarking on a prolific career in industrial, furniture, and product design. One of the leading names in Swedish contemporary design, Monica Förster has created award-winning products and furniture that have become modern classics. Her clients include well-known brands like Alessi, Volvo, Cappellini, and Georg Jensen, among many others. Blending pure forms and elegance, her designs also explore the balance between old craft techniques, new technology, and innovative materials. Monica Förster has received many accolades and awards for her work, including The Golden Chair Award from the Swedish Architect Association and the Interior Innovation Award at imm Cologne.
