Ron Arad was born in Tel Aviv in 1951. He studied at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem before moving to London to complete his architecture studies at the Architectural Association School of Architecture. In 1981, he co-founded the One Off studio, followed by Ron Arad Associates in 1989, and Ron Arad Architects in 2008. An industrial designer, architect, and artist, he creates experimental designs that explore form, structure, and texture. He often uses materials like aluminum, carbon fiber, and polyamide to produce work that blurs the line between art and design. Throughout his prolific career, Ron Arad has designed iconic products and furniture as well as cultural, hospitality, and commercial buildings. He has received many awards for his work and his designs are included in the collections of renowned museums like the Centre Pompidou in Paris and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
