Most customers have a specific need in mind when ordering their custom build. Usually, they favor a certain design, terrain, or riding style, but the owner of this two-wheeled beauty defied the norm with his request. He tasked Austrian workshop Vagabund Moto with building a brat style motorcycle specifically for summer and sunny weather. And the workshop went above and beyond that brief to bring a minimalist beauty to life. This 1988 BMW R80RT ‘V08’ bike has a simplified design and a streamlined silhouette, without any superfluous details. That includes the fenders, which have no place on a summer brat. As a result, this BMW R80 cafe racer stands out with its ultra-clean and elegant aesthetic.
The team added a slimmer R75/5 fuel tank as well as shortened handlebars. A subtle R100R exhaust unit and hidden wiring enhance the minimal look further. Other notable features include a laser-cut upper yoke that integrates the Motogadget motoscope speedo, 3D-printed controls, a modified brake light unit, and a new YSS rear shock. A shortened seat along with a silver and black palette complete the elegant BMW R80 cafe racer. For one lucky bike owner, summer 2018 looks even brighter.
