Made by multi-disciplinary studio Nozem Amsterdam, this custom BMW motorcycle has a distinctive design that relies on subtlety and refinement instead of flashy accents. Modern and vintage design cues combine with elegant simplicity and creativity. To build this BMW R80 cafe racer, the studio sourced a 1984 bike and used the client’s Siebenrock 1070cc engine. Then the hard work began. The bike features numerous bespoke items and components that make it look effortlessly cool. For example, the frame underwent a complete makeover and the swingarm required complex modifications to allow for the installation of a new rear wheel.
The most eye-catching part of the build, the seat and tank have a minimalist monocoque design. At the rear, the team built a custom exhaust system, while at the front of the bike they fitted Honda CBR900RR forks to a bespoke top triple clamp, along with a Ceriani 4LS 230mm drum. As a finishing touch, Nozem added some orange lines to complement the neutral gray palette of the BMW R107R. Photographs© Gijs Spierings.
