Though at first intimidating, the custom Honda CB550 from Raccia Motorcycles actually has a sweet backstory. Mike LaFountain, the lead for Californian team, professed his feelings for the Honda RC181 as a “schoolboy crush” and took that spark of yesteryear’s passion to the metal. The bike incorporates an assemblage of parts from Japanese production bikes, and the snazzy tank from a Kawasaki KZ1000R gives the bike the kind of look to fall heads over heels for. A true labor of love, the custom job includes a reverse-engineered, double-cradle race frame designed as a match made in heaven for the Honda engine. The shiny 18” Excel rims are fitted with Avon tires to run with reckless abandon, as this bike swaggers with style.
