Cut Food Series by Beth Galton

I bet that photographer Beth Galton is one of those gals who likes to bite her chocolate truffles in half, just to take a look at the filling inside. Galton essentially does the same examination on several food favorites, though on a larger, more complicated scale. In Cut Food Series, Galton takes a diagrammatic section of a variety of items ranging from the beloved ice cream cone to a hard-boiled egg dyed pink. An impressive cut through a cup of ramen reveals the curly noodles packed in broth (no spillage with Galton’s technique). Similarly, frozen in action are swirls of cream that have just started to mix with the dark brew of a cup of coffee. Some photos display elegance in composition, while others – such as the revelation of the asymmetric fillings of three powdered, jelly donuts – are just plain fun.
