Tom Dowdall

London, United Kingdom

Tom Dowdall Architects is a UK-based studio working across architecture, design, and construction, with a focus on sustainability and hands-on building. The studio emerged from the experience of designing and self-building Eavesdrop, a Paragraph 80 home set in the High Weald AONB. That project laid the groundwork for the studio’s approach—design that’s rooted in context, shaped by the realities of making, and driven by a long-term view of how buildings are used and lived in. Dowdall and his team are interested in the full arc of a project, from concept to construction, with an emphasis on low-impact materials and a deep respect for craft. For them, the process of making is as meaningful as the final result.
