El Viento Residence by Otto Medem Arquitectura

Like stretching your arms open to feel the full extent of a wide field, a cliff’s edge, a rushing storm,  so it is in the layout of El Viento Residence by Otto Medem Arquitectura. In the mountainside of Madrid the home mimics this similar gesture all about surrendering to the view. The choppy arrangement of the design spreads itself vulnerably beneath the magnificent sky above. Three tiers of quarters cluster like a private village. Between the breeze ways and generous outdoor living spaces guests are elevated to a wondrous freedom. Sprawling across the hill organically, boulders ravish the interior with their massive statement. Everywhere you look elements of stone and natural influences are left raw and prominent. Of course you cannot escape the protruding corners nor the discovery of windows where every turn of the head another glimpse of that view takes your breath.

Allison

Allison Parker is a proud stay at home mom maintaining a full schedule kissing boo boos and passing out hugs just because. Her days many times are spent between the garden and the kitchen. From a journey of learning whole food eating habits, she's taken on the challenges of baking bread, muffins and cakes from scratch and filling the cellar shelves with scores of her own canned goods each year. Writing is one of those things she does because its part of who she is. That and it's a nice break from the never ending work that comes with raising a family.
