Exchange Collection By Crème For Stellar Works

Last year, Brooklyn-based Crème designed the Exchange Chair for Chinese brand Stellar Works. Based on the Windsor seat, the chair features steel rods, providing a contemporary twist on the classic design. For 2017, the studio expanded the collection with several types of chairs, bar stools and a dining table. To mark the occasion in true creative fashion, Crème designed a range of limited-edition chairs that look simply gorgeous.

Using organic blue dye from the Guizhou village in southern China as well as traditional hand-dyeing methods, the designers gave the chairs an artistic appearance. They boast three shades of navy blue, with a half-dyed chair also available. Copper rods complement the blue color, offsetting the cool tone at the same time. A perfect blend of heritage, handmade techniques and modern design. Launched at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York, the Exchange Collection won the ICFF Editors’ Award for Best Collection. Photo credits: Stellar Works.
