Fondation CAB Saint-Paul-De-Vence

A gallery space, museum, and guest house focused on minimalist art.

Founded by art lover and collector Huber Bonnet, Brussels-based, Fondation CAB promotes Belgian and international minimalist and conceptual art. Now, the foundation has opened a new location: Fondation CAB Saint-Paul-de-Vence. Housed in a renovated 1950s building in the south of France, the gallery space and museum allows art lovers to immerse themselves into contemporary minimalist art in a gorgeous natural setting. The foundation has a double purpose, as it also offers residencies for artists during the winter season. Set within a garden, the building has access to gorgeous views of the Cap d’Antibes peninsula. French architect and designer Charles Zana renovated the 1950s building completely.

The interior boasts several gallery spaces for seasonal art shows as well as exhibition areas for the foundation’s art collection. Visitors can also drop by a bookstore and a restaurant designed with glazed walls that open to lush garden views. Apart from the exhibition spaces, bookshop, and lounge areas, Fondation CAB Saint-Paul-De-Vence also offers an artist residency program. Artists can stay in one of the four guest rooms or in an iconic Maison Démontable 6×6 by Jean Prouvé.

All of the guests rooms feature tastefully appointed interiors that would delight any design and art lover. For example, furniture and lighting include pieces from famous designers like Alvar Aalto or Hans J. Wegner. Fondation CAB Saint-Paul-De-Vence is also close to the renowned Fondation Maeght. Established in 1064 by Marguerite and Aimé Maeght, the foundation houses one of the world’s largest collections of modern art. Finally, Fondation CAB’s new program in Saint-Paul-de-Vence aims to contribute to the cultural and economic development of the French village. Photography© Antoine Lippens.
