Designed by Paris-based designer Jean Couvreur for furniture brand Kataba, the Frequence Bookcase provides endless customization possibilities. The ingenious design features two separate elements cut from a 4mm-thick sheet of aluminum. One element is larger than the other, but they fit together perfectly to create shelving with a distinctive shape. The simple design puts a focus on the dynamic rhythm of the geometric pattern, creating a focal point in any living space. This unique white bookcase is also easy to adapt to become something else entirely.
Made with a modular design, Frequence allows a wide range of configurations, depending on the user’s needs. For example, the aluminum shelves can create a smaller shelving unit, a ceiling-high bookcase, creative side table, or even a room divider. The user can adjust the number of elements as well as their horizontal or vertical orientation. Lightweight but sturdy, the shelves can support an array of items, from books to decorative objects. This unique white bookcase suits both living spaces and offices, providing an ingenious solution to transform a utilitarian concept into a sculptural design.
