Part of the Wire Collection by Overgaard & Dyrman, the Wire Bar Stool is actually crafted from steel, wood, and full-grain leather. The design stands on four legs, each made of steel and finished with one’s choice of satin chrome plating or a matte black powder coat. Structured with crossed “wires” and a solid wood footrest, the stool is strong and architectural in appearance.
Sleek but not overly modern, the seat draws inspiration from traditional saddles. The upholstery comes in Yellowstone or Elegance by Sorensen Leather. Yellowstone is a vegetable-tanned aniline leather finished with wax, while Elegance is a pure aniline leather first tanned with chrome and then introduced to the vegetable process. Each variety is premium-quality and comes in three distinct shades of brown or black. Underneath the tooling leather, the seat is padded with foam and a soft aniline leather, all sewn together to balance stiffness and comfort.
The Wire Bar Stool is now available for purchase from the designers and select furniture boutiques. Additionally, in summer of 2015, Overgaard & Dyrman will release a variation with a backrest, the Wire Bar Chair.
