Fruit by Matt James Stone

This one is for those Arrested Development fans out there. When you think ideas can’t get more ridiculous, Matt James Stone has managed to produce a series of works that might just be a level up in humor and absurdity from the Bluth’s frozen banana stand. Fruit, the name of the series, couldn’t be a further cry from the consumable. The sculptures feature both full banana as well as individual peels, the latter used to join multiple bunches in an odd number of configurations. Even more curious might be the colorful pins that dot each cluster, as if they were sprinkles that were applied at too early a stage. While the visual impact is humorous indeed, I bet that eating such a banana sculpture would be no laughing matter.
