Vibrant and creative, the Galactica futuristic furniture collection was designed by Antonio Aricò in a collaboration with Australian designer Richard Greenacre for Italian company altreforme, which produces high-end furniture as well as modern home accessories. The collection pays homage to iconic architect and designer Eileen Gray in a subtle way. To achieve the distinctive look, the designers combined geometric shapes and contrasting volumes with bold colors.
I love giving empathy, character and personality to products. For this new project and challenge, I designed every single piece with attention to ‘disproportionate’ asymmetries, primitive volumes and graphic edges. explains Antonio Aricò.
The range includes chairs and tables as well as a screen, mirror, bench, and cabinet. All of them boast eye-catching metallic hues, which look striking in the official photo campaign that presents the pieces in the gorgeous landscape of Calabria, Aricò’s home region. Set against the features of the picturesque Southern Italy, the furniture collection links nature and design in a creative way. Other images show the chairs and tables indoors. Here, the rustic setting and warm lighting beautifully contrasts the futuristic designs and enhances their charm at the same time.
