Grovemade Tabletop Collection

“Eat, drink, and be merry” – usually the first things that come to mind when thinking about sharing a meal with friends and family. What we don’t usually consider is the design of our table; the plates we eat from, the glasses we drink from, the vases we pour from. Or as Grovemade industrial designer Kevin Do puts it, “the tabletop is a vehicle to enjoyment.” With their new collection of tableware, Grovemade has accomplished just this. The Portland, OR based domestic design studio has recently published their new collection of tableware, and it is sure to please all palates. The collection, a range of ceramic dishware, cork trivets, and wooden placemats, considered the materiality of the objects first in their minimally elegant design. Such considerations are presented in perfectly weighted porcelain dishware with a comfortably chamfered rim, reversible cork/wood trivets adaptable for a variety of hot and cold surfaces, and laser-etched placemats that present each meal. More items that round out the collection include salt and pepper shakers, pitchers, and vases. All products are made in-house, with the same attention to craft and detail as in their design.
