Hat Lamp by Norm Architects

“Have you misplaced your hat?” “Why, no, that is a lamp.” Hat Lamp, a conceptual piece by Norm Architects, is hilarious in concept and brilliant in design. Treating the spherical bulb as an unadorned crown, a lampshade of a hat – or would that be, hat of a lampshade – is plopped onto the hanging head. The shade, which is beautifully crafted from wood, resembles in form and color an explorer’s hat. Whether the lamp is used to illuminate a drawing-in-progress of the windy Serengeti or to provide a guide for a literary adventure in the Amazon, Hat Lamp is for sure a de-light.
