Help Bringing Clean Water to Every Adventure

Currently seeking funding through a Kickstarter campaign, the SOL Water Bag from Tortoise Gear hopes to help adventurers in all facets by providing an easy way to access clean drinking water. Simple in both design and use, all one needs to do is fill the bag with water and leave it in the sun to purify. Thanks to a solar-powered sterilizer, the pack is designed to work in any outdoor scenario, and depending on the rays hitting the bag it can purify water in 3 to 24 hours. The material is BPA-, DHP- and Phthalate-free to persuade the ecologically conscious outdoorsperson, and comes in three sizes suitable for any excursion. But along with acting as an on-the-fly water filter, the bag is designed to also act as a measuring container, and oddly enough makes for a great waterproof bag for ones valuables. The plastic is even touch-screen friendly, so one can use his or her smartphone while keeping it safely dry inside the bag. This adaptable accessory is a must-have for any outdoor enthusiast, and seamlessly combines functionality and practicality into a minimalist package. Pending a successful Kickstarter campaign, which offers a bag for as little as a $3 contribution, this bag could become as ubiquitous as a flashlight or compass in future outdoor adventures.

Amid the unrest of earning his Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from RISD, Nathaniel manages to find the time to read, write, hang out with friends, play drums, and listen to music. Nathaniel has learned a lot about architecture firsthand thanks to opportunities to live and work in Rome and Brooklyn during the past year. Coming from a family with strong roots in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, Nathaniel has always maintained a strong love for NYC especially, and after his studies finish up in Providence he may move there for a while. He hasn't decided yet. You can connect with him via Linkedin or by visiting his Portfolio page.
