Heritage Division & Taurus Handmade Italian Bicycles

Knowledge and skill passed down through generations are inimitable, but when they also combine with elegant Italian design, the result is truly special. Taurus, a family-owned bicycle brand established in 1908 has been building bikes by hand for over 100 years in the same factory located just 20 miles away from Milan, in Vanzaghello, Italy. Heritage Division is made of creatives, handcrafters, and experts from the world of design and technology, all sharing one goal: to create timeless products in partnership with the great artisans of the world by adding modern twists to classic designs. For the first collection, Heritage Division collaborated with Taurus to launch four unique bicycles in the US. The Corsa, Lusso, Strada, and Viaggio perfectly combine age-old craftsmanship, unmistakable Italian style, and modern features. Unlike most bikes currently made in the US, these bicycles are entirely handmade and even the spokes are installed manually.

Italian craftsmanship and modern features blend in the Heritage Division & Taurus bike collection.

Modern additions include a GPS tracker that notifies the owner of the location of the bike in case it is stolen and a sensor that provides important information in real time, including the safety ratings of urban areas and how long a certain journey will take. To maintain the sense of heritage, each owner can connect to their bike’s story via a custom made app that displays its journey starting at the factory and going all the way to the first ride. Each bike has its own personality and unique features, but they all share the Brooks saddle, front and rear lights, a choice of 26” or 28” wheels, and matte colors inspired by vintage racing cars: midnight blue, black brown, gray, and light cream. The materials include leather in brown or black, wooden accents, stainless steel, chrome, and iron. Corsa is designed for speed and features racing style MKS pedals with toe clips and leather straps as well as a Sunrace 7 speed casette. Lusso brings a touch of refinement thanks to wooden handlebar ends in a honey color and cream colored tires. Strada is perfect for city streets and emanates style with its Condorino style handlebars and subtle tire guards. Viaggio is meant for journeys, as it comes with front and rear luggage racks boasting leather straps. But all are created for city dwellers looking for traditional quality and innovation in bicycles that have a timeless design. The first batch is produced in a limited number and is available at a reduced price on the official website. Images courtesy of Heritage Division.
