Herno Laminar Fall/Winter 2012 Capsule Collection

It’s always refreshing when a heritage-laden brand deftly maneuvers the twists and turns of the modern day—especially one pushing over seven decades. This is exactly what we see with the Herno Laminar Fall/Winter 2012 capsule collection, a collaboration between the time-honored Italian brand Herno and technical genius Acronym designer Errolson Hugh.
The aptly-named Sartorial Engineering collection is equally divided into eight styles for men and eight styles for women, each one providing a perfect blend of function and decidedly urban form.
“Sixteen elements inspired to meet the needs of daily life, from business to leisure, produced using extremely sophisticated techniques such as thermo-ultrasound seams, combined with laminated GORE-TEX®, synonymous of both waterproof and breathing fabrics. This is the new uncompromising Laminar world created by Herno,” states the collaboration’s write-up.
“Laminar, the name given to the project, refers to the phenomenon that in physics means the “optimization of the flow” – there are no cross currents and the particles flow in a orderly way. This project is the result of two years hard work, not only on the product itself, but also to develop production techniques adapted to the use of such complex materials.”
