The House in Ovar, Portugal by architect Paula Santos, is a stunning monolithic concrete structure featuring a beautiful indoor swimming pool and an inspiring painter’s studio. Set on an unstable sandy lot, the construction needed to be built on one level, therefor most rooms in the house are at ground floor level on either side of a long central corridor and only an en suite bedroom is located upstairs. Paved terraces and a grass lawn surround the house and a concrete canopy provides an outdoor shelter with two large circular skylight openings.
