Would you live in the House of Would? Designed by Elii for a Spanish family in Pedrezuela, Madrid, the modular residence packs more potential – the “would”, if you will – that is expected behind the wooden slats of the façade. Fairly typical in plan, the House of Would derives its character from its sectional variations, with spaces varying in elevation according to public and private denomination. The faceted composition also becomes functional, as the angled rooftops help collect rainwater and culminate at an open-frame shelter that demarcates a balcony overlooking the entire site. The House of Would, then, becomes a journey through vertical space, with exciting ups and downs through the industrialized space.
