This Lille, France house was renovated in collaboration between Bo Architectures and Fanny and Pascal François. Originally a waffle factory, the industrial space features exposed concrete and brick as well as original door frames, fireplace, and wooden panels. In transforming the old building into a modern home, the architect team opened up the living room and kitchen, restored the brick wall, and replaced the concrete floors and geometric windows. The family then personalized the space with flea market finds and DIY projects, such as the poplar table made by Pascal. Altogether, the homey additions heighten the romance of the otherwise industrial design, giving the interior a taste of nostalgic sweetness.
