Intoducing The Oak & Oscar Burnham

Chicago based brand Oak & Oscar recently entered the watch scene with a limited edition piece known as The Burnham. This straightforward, yet detailed watch merges high quality materials with authentic craftsmanship. This piece was named after Daniel Burnham, one of the earliest modern city planners and the architect of the first American skyscrapers.
The watch contains Swiss automatic Soprod movement that lives inside a custom-designed case with a grey sandwich dial. It includes dark grey hands and a vibrant orange seconds hand with custom counter balance to create the perfect finish. The Arabic numerals contrast the overall look subtly, and was designed meticulously. The numeral 8 alone required nearly 80 hours of design time to ensure that it didn’t resemble a military stencil. The date aperture at 6 o’clock shows a beautifully color-matched date wheel, a trait not so commonly seen on many pieces today. The leather strap made of Horween leather has faultless orange undertones to match and develops a beautiful coat over time. The watch also comes with a navy durable nylon strap and even features a signed buckle and orange stitching from Crown & Buckle. Each buyer will receive a matching leather watch wallet created by Defy Bags, a local Chicago bag and apparel accessory shop. The Burnham perfectly demonstrates artistry in its craftsmanship, keeping a simple balance in mind between beauty and durability.
