Ippon Matsu by Kota Kobayashi

The tsunami that devastated the vulnerable coast of Japan in 2011 left us with news feeds of a sadness. Seventy thousand trees were destroyed that day, however one small arbor of life remained. A lonely pine tree, an everlasting symbol with its never fading green, season-less spirit, stood all on its own that evening after the wave took whatever it touched.

In honor of restoration, in memory of the loss and perseverance toward the future, Japanese designer Kota Kobayashi dedicated his microbrew Ippon Matsu (One Pine Tree).  Every bottle not only has the one tree symbol but also tells the story of the trees and its cause to help.  Raise a glass, profits from this beer will go towards restoring the affected Northeast coast of Japan.
