Tucked among vineyards and forest, La Cabotte is a grape-loving destination in the Bollène commune of France. The central building was designed by H20 Architectes in order to provide spaces for a wine tasting room, a workers’ washroom, and an office. To accommodate the three functions, the design is split into a star-plan with three branches. Each branch opens at a point that highlights the hillside landscape. Outside, the headquarters is clad in wood for a natural yet angular look. The boards stand in long lines on most sides but slant diagonally at the guest entrance. The geometry of the exterior sets the stage for the contemporary interior, which glows with sunlight and features wooden furnishings including a wine bar.
