Designed by Sir Richard Branson of Virgin Limited Edition, Mahali Mzuri is a resort safari camp located west of Nairobi, Kenya, inside the Olare Motorogi Conservancy. The resort is made up of twelve tented suites and accepts just twenty-four guests at a time, guaranteeing low-density tourism and minimizing the impact on the surrounding environment. In the name of sustainability and community responsibility, the elevated tents echo local architecture and are made of materials sourced within the region. The resort partnered with local workers during construction and continues to employ community members and offer special rates to Kenyan residents.
Ideal for a romantic getaway, the suites include a bedroom, a bathroom, a lounge, and a spacious deck. The tents are made of byDESIGN canvas, and the bespoke furnishings of bamboo and wood are curated by Real Studios. Guests can spend their days relaxing at the resort’s infinity and spa, venturing on game drives, and taking guided walks to and from the local villages. Should one feel like staying in, there’s still plenty to see from the suite. The canvas dividers roll up to reveal the Conservancy’s plains, where herds of zebras and giraffes can be spotted with the naked eye.
