Maison 0.82 By PASCUAL Architecte

Situated in a scrubland area at the edge of the Roman city of Nîmes in southern France, Maison 0.82 celebrates nature, natural light and natural materials. The contemporary house was designed by the PASCUAL Architecte studio and has a modern horizontal construction with one level. Right from the start, distinctive details stand out. The circular skylight on the terrace creates a play of brightness and darkness as the sun moves across the sky, but also ensures that the nearby kitchen receives plenty of light during the winter. The black pillars complement the vertical cladding, gray planks and concrete decking beautifully.

Throughout the house, the studio maximized the dialogue between the interior and the garden. Revolving windows open up the living room to nature and flood the spaces with natural light. Open-plan areas accentuate the lofty look and feel of the living space, while other rooms allow complete privacy. Wood and concrete appear both inside and outside Maison 0.82, displaying rich, contrasting textures. The garden, guarded by tall trees and a discreet wall, features sitting areas, a pool and a wide range of local plants. The terrace doubles as an outdoor dining space, providing a perfect place to relax and socialize during the warmer months. Clean lines, circular shapes, complementing materials, and nature integration combine in a house that looks equally stylish and welcoming. Photography by Marie Caroline Lucat.
