Marmeria: Modular Marble Bookshelf

Open-ended design drives the endlessly versatile arrangement and aesthetic behind this marble library by Archea Associati for Luce di Carrara. Making its debut at the Marmomacc International Trade Fair, “Marmeria”’s stunningly simple structure provides the possibility of customization according to spatial and storage needs through a stacking modular system; though every component preserves the same height and depth measurements, four different widths with subtle angled sides offer a necessary touch of asymmetry with a playful vibe. And since the bookcase is free standing (up to 200 cm), the compositional possibilities are truly limitless. Solid marble construction – available in an array of colors and textures (they’ve even made one from terracotta) — completes the refined piece in the same voice of sophisticated whimsy. Users are encouraged to independently shape their own Marmeria, exploring the infinite structural and stylistic opportunities the clever form affords.
